House, Chalmers or Arroyo??

The question many Heat fans as well as sports writers are asking is who should be the starting point guard. Why is Chalmers still the starter when he has done nothing but struggle and regress while being on the court with the Big 3? Why can’t he follow Rondo’s shoes and become better with all this star power?

The answers are simple when I come to think about it. Arroyo was the starter when we won 20 out of 21 but he is not a shooting threat and will never be respected. Chalmers fits the pace the Heat want to play and House is instant offense coming of the bench. If you still don’t believe he should be the starter look at this.

The Heat have only lost one game to Boston when they have the starting lineup of the Big 3, Z, and Chalmers. Chalmers also has a very good +/-. For example, he was + 15 last night versus the Pacers. Still not in agreement, here is one more point.

Chalmers has won a championship and has hit a clutch shot to do so. Yes, it might be a national championship but that still takes work and effort especially when you asked to send the game into OT late. House has won one with Boston but House’s personality is great off the bench as he brings energy (the same thing brought to a team like Boston from Big Baby).

I think you have to stick it out with Chalmers unless you go out and get someone like Billups in a trade but out of the three, RIO is the way to go.

  1. In the 2008-2009 season, Carlos Arroyo’s team “Maccabi Tel Aviv” won the League’s Championship and he was named its MVP. On August 15, 2004, during the 2004 Olympic Basketball Tournament in Athen, Greece. Carlos Arroyo, as co-captain of the Puerto Rican National Team, led his team to victory over the United States team by a score of 92 to 73. He was the leading scorer for that game with 24 points (9-16 from the field) in addition to having 7 assists. So I would say he can shoot and he is respected. By the way, the players for that 2004 USA team were: Allen Iverson, Tim Duncan, Lamar Odom, Carlos Boozer, Stephon Marbury, Richard Jefferson, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Shawn Marion and Amar’e Stoudemire. (You can check the official site of USA Basketball).
