Randolph and the Grizzlies Spur San Antonio in Upset

Filed under: NBA — michaelperchick @ 4:24 pm

Zach Randolph dropped 25, Marc Gasol added another 24 and the Grizzlies took over the game in the fourth quarter, knocking off the West’s top seed in their opening playoff game.  The Spurs, playing without Manu Ginobili, were slow for most of the first half, but picked up the tempo in the third, and looked as if they were set to take control of the game.

But the Spurs were not able to contain the hot-shooting Grizzlies, who shot 55.8% from the field the entire game.  While this is a huge win for the Grizzlies, they still have to knock off the Spurs three more times.  With Ginobili set to return next game, I still feel confident that the Spurs will prevail.
