Jim Morris back in the dugout tonight

After missing the previous six games for the UM baseball team due to gall bladder surgery, coach Jim Morris is ready to return this evening for the Canes’ 6 p.m. game against Illinois State.

He looks to spark a rebound for the Canes, who have lost four straight, including a weekend sweep to their in-state rival, the top-ranked Florida Gators. Assistant coach/pitching coach J.D. Arteaga will return to his normal role with Morris’ return.

Morris was released from the hospital and back at home this past Thursday but couldn’t make the trip to Gainesville with the team.

Now he’s ready to go, and this could be just what the baseball team needs to get them going again as ACC play is scheduled to commence this Friday at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field when the Canes face off against Virginia Tech.
