Women’s Basketball:

Katie Meier’s squad bowed out of the ACC tournament yesterday, falling to North Carolina 83-57. Leading ACC scorer Riquna Williams and ACC Player of the Year Shenise Johnson led the team with 21 and 19 points respectively. But Tar Heel guard Jessica Breland posted the game high score of 28.

Men’s Basketball:

On the men’s side…Frank Haith and his team travel to Atlanta to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets this afternoon. The last time these two teams played, UM squandered a 21 point lead in a nail biter to win 59-57. The Canes look to finish their regular season on a positive note before the first round of the ACC Tournament begins Thursday.

The baseball team finishes its road stand at top-ranked Florida today, trying to pick up a win after dropping the first two games. The Gators came out hitting Friday night, scoring 4 runs in the 2nd inning and two runs each in the 3rd and 4th. The Canes comeback in the 8th stopped at 3 runs, making the final score 8-3. Yesterday was a different story: A pitcher’s duel between UFs Hudson Randall and UMs EJ Encinsosa, who both lasted 7.0 innings. The only run in the game came in the bottom of the 8th. Sam Robinson entered in relief of Encinosa and gave up an RBI single to pitch hitter Bryson Smith.
