Heat lose to the Magic

After enjoying a 24 point lead in the game tonight, the Miami Heat forfeited the monstrous advantage and lost  99-96 to the Orlando Magic tonight at American Airlines Arena.

Orlando trailed 73-49 with 8 minutes left in the third quarter.  A minute into the fourth quarter, it was 82-71 Heat.  5 minutes later, the Magic had flipped the game and were leading 89-82.  5 minutes, zero points for the ‘explosive’ Heat team featuring Bosh, Lebron, and Wade.  Where was the offense? Better yet, where was the defense?

Dwight Howard pulled down 18 rebounds, Jason Richardson led the magic with 24 points, and Jameer Nelson added 16 points and 7 assists for Orlando.  Lebron James had 29 points, Wade had 28, and Bosh added 18 (75 points altogether), but it wasn’t enough.  In his first night on the Heat, Mike Bibby had three points and one assist in nineteen minutes off the bench.

Questions for the Heat fans in class: Who does the blame fall upon for the loss tonight? Is it time for the team to panic? Is it time to second-guess any decision?

  1. you blame the team as a whole. I will not allow people to blame the coach. its not his fault the team does not execute down the stretch. its not time to hit the panic button, they were up 24 showing that when they execute they are clearly an unstoppable force and also hell no will i ever question the decisions that were made.
