Andy Petttite to Retire

(Now) former Yankee Andy Pettite is set to announce his retirement tomorrow.  The 16-year old veteran is coming off a great season, and is considered one of the best postseason pitchers of all-time.

His retirement leaves the Yankees starting rotation in shambles.  As of now, it’s CC Sabathia, Phil Hughes, the popcorn vendor, the hot dog vendor, with the fifth starter decided by a weekly write-in contest by the fans.

Will Pettite’s retirement be enough to knock the Yankees out of the playoff race in the AL East, or will they still have enough firepower offensively to compete with the Rays and Red Sox?  Let your thoughts be heard in the Comments Section below.
