Seminoles Edge Out Miami…

Filed under: sports, college — Kyle Sielaff @ 11:14 am

Reggie Johnson stares on as Miami takes on arch rival Florida State.

Miami put their 8-0 home record on the line against Florida State Wednesday night at the Bank United Canter, but couldn’t quite hang on down the stretch as they fell 55-53.

Trailing by two with under 10 seconds left to play, Durand Scott missed on back-to-back possessions for the ‘Canes.

Scott’s missed chances seemed to be the least of Miami’s concerns however.

The ‘Canes, who traditionally live and die by the three, shot a mere 22% from behind the arc, converting on only five of 22 opportunities.

Miami, who led by as much as 12 in the first half, saw a 10 point deficit slip away in the second half as Florida State scored 12 consecutive points to sink Miami late.

The Hurricanes will try to bounce back on the road this Saturday as they take on North Carolina State at 12 p.m.
