NBA playoffs on NBA TV

So your favorite NBA team makes the playoffs, awesome, now it’s time to enjoy watching the games on TV right? Well not necessarily as several games are being shown only on NBA TV nationally, a network that many people don’t have. This is the playoffs for a major sport, and the NBA decides that if you’re favorite team isn’t where you live and you don’t have their network you are out of luck. The playoffs run on ABC, TNT, and ESPN yet somehow they need to do this? I can understand the sentiment for regular season games, but for the life of me I do not get this.

Since the NBA can clearly get put on by major networks at all times unlike say the NHL this is senseless. Keeping the games on basic cable is fair for everyone, instead now people rooting for Phoenix, Portland, Atlanta, and Milwaukee had to resort to live trackers or looking for some crazy online link tonight. Everyone deserves to see and enjoy these games, please David Stern don’t do this to your loyal fans again next year.
