Gender differences

So I always think it’s funny when my guy friends assume girls know absolutely nothing about sports. I have a friend, Cassie, who watches ESPN all the time. She loves it. We will be having drinks and the TV will be on and she’ll comment about the games. However, if a guy overhears her, they’ll be like, “oh, that’s cute, you think you know something.” After a much heated debate and her having to prove she actually knows what she is talking about, the guys usually retreat.

What I find worse though is that girls further their own stereotype that we know nothing about sports. While at party by the pool, there was a whole swarm of guys watching the Masters — waiting for Tiger and commenting about everything. Half the girls either played dumb or really didn’t have a clue while they asked what was going on on TV. When a guy commented that Tiger was up, a girl reading her Cosmo asked if they were watching E! Entertainment. I almost felt like an outcast from my gender for wanting to see the game.
