Forget Birdies, Let’s Hit Some Eagles!

Filed under: Uncategorized — joeyheld @ 9:08 pm

On Saturday, Phil Mickelson became just the third player in Masters history to eagle back-to-back holes. And he came within inches of making it three in a row. He sank a putt on the par-5 13th for his first eagle, and then chipped in from 139 feet away on the par-4 14th. Understandably, he was pumped.

It’s amazing how a few holes can change the course of a tournament. Mickelson birdied the 15th; he moved from five shots off the lead going into the 13th hole to tied for first going into the 16th. Not bad.
