Unusual Bets

Filed under: Uncategorized — joeyheld @ 7:33 pm

If only betting were legal…then you could have a lot of fun with the Super Bowl! If you have no vested interest in either team, you can at least do some gentlemen’s or women’s betting on these…

  • The company of the next commercial (it can be generic, like “car,” “beer,” etc., or be more specific “Coca Cola,” “Ameriquest,” etc.)
  • The color of the Gatorade poured on the winning coach (“clear” and “yellow” are the two favorites)
  • The jersey # of the first TD scored (this is best played as an over/under style game, as in “I’ll pick over 25.5 for the jersey number and win when Pierre Garcon reaches paydirt.”)
  • What the first penalty will be, and who it will be on
  • Number of blinks/emotions Colts coach Jim Caldwell performs/shows
  • Total yardage between two players (i.e. you may think Courtney Roby will have more than Reggie Bush)
  • Times Archie Manning will be shown/referenced
  • Times “Who dat?” or some variant will be shown/referenced
  • Number of faces Peyton Manning makes
  • Number of lateral yards Reggie Bush runs before actually progressing forward (can be for the whole game or on just one run)
  • Number of times Dwight Freeney spins
  • Number of times a super slow motion replay is used

As you can see, the possibilities are endless. Enjoy the game, and of course I’m not condoning betting. Unless it’s for bragging rights. Then you almost have to do it. Just don’t blame me for picking the wrong side.

  1. Well, I now owe people desserts because of last night’s outcome. Guess I should have stuck to your suggestions.

  2. Tails never fails and I was dying to bet with someone but got no takers. I guess that was lucky since it came up heads, but that flip from Emmit was weak, guess I should expect that from a Cowboy. I am actually quite curious why he did the flip instead of Jerry Rice though!
