Hidden domination…

Don’t let the score deceive you, the Miami men’s basketball team dominated their game yesterday against Boston College. The team jumped out to a 16 point lead seven minutes into the game and kept at least half of it all game, mostly by not letting any BC player take over. Joe Trapani scored 17 points for the Eagles, but only 12 of those came after the Canes jumped out to the big lead. Tyrese Rice scored 11 but his miserable shooting day (3 for 15) really did in a Boston College team that was actually beating Miami on the boards (in great part due to the Missing in Action status of Dwayne Collins). Jack McClinton and Rice are good friends, but this game really showed how McClinton’s shooting game is superior to Rice’s. While Jack was taking shots from NBA three-point range and draining them, Rice was grazing the side of the rim, further proof that McClinton should NOT be overlooked anymore. If the Canes can win the next 4 or 5 (including a game or two in the ACC Tournament), there may not be an opportunity for him to be overlooked anymore.

Bottom line, the Canes made a streaking Eagles team look as bad as they did when they were scuffling in ACC play earlier this season, a truly impressive feat.
