Baseball Opening

Filed under: Uncategorized — Just Be. @ 11:56 am

For those of you who didn’t get a chance to make it out to the games on Friday or Saturday there is still one more opportunity on Sunday to watch the ‘Canes play Cincinnati.

So far the games have been great. The team opened up well on Friday and gave the fans a reason to chear, beating Cinci 3-1. Erickson got the win and freshman Joe Terdoslavich really impressed me at bat, recording his very first hit, RBI and stolen base for UM.

On Saturday, the ‘Canes were down 4-1 when Jason Hagerty tied it up by hitting his first UM career homerun. Dave Dinatale put the team ahead when he hit his first homer of the season. Kyle Bellamy got the win. John Housey struggled on the mound giving up three runs in one inning. It was his first appearance. Terdoslavich impressed me again by hitting his first UM double.

Saturday’s final score: 6-4. Canes move to 2-0.

The crowd was great at both games. Over 3000 fans each night. To be honest, I didn’t know the stadium held that many. Let’s keep up this support during the season! I’m heading over to the game this afternoon. Hopefully there will be a good showing for a Sunday.
